On Thursday 25 August 2016, USQ Student Guild celebrated their inaugural Danny Clifford Bursary Presentation Night. The USQ Student Guild Board approved the implementation of the Danny Clifford Bursaries as a way of recognising the efforts of USQ Student Guild’s previous Chair, Danny Clifford and his contribution to the USQ Student Guild community.
Six well deserving USQ students were selected by the Board to be presented with Danny Clifford Bursaries up to the value of $1000. The funds will assist students with purchasing books, technology, studying materials, paying for travel associated with studying and funding family support, such as baby-sitting and childcare.
The USQ students who were selected to be Danny Clifford Bursary Recipients were; Mrs. Tegan Cross, Mr. Dean Cooper, Mrs. Deanne LaRoche, Mr. David Pullen, Mr. Ahamed Asraz Aslam Cassim and Mrs. Rula Khaled Almadadha.
The bursaries recipients come from a broad studying backgrounds including undergraduates, postgraduates, on campus, external, international and domestic students.
The USQ Student Guild Board selected these six recipients taking into account their academic achievements and their involvement in their own communities. The Board believes they all will be fantastic ambassadors for USQ and the USQ Student Guild.
